On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in the presence of the President of the University of Zakho Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies Professor Dr. Yaseen T. Mustafa, Vice President for Students Affairs Assistant Professor Dr. Karwan F. Sami, deans of colleges and faculties, lecturers, and students of the university, a seminar on " Continuous Assessment of Programs" was conducted for Dr. Honar Issa- Member of the Board of Trustees /ABET Evaluator, the American University of Kurdistan.
In the beginning, he was warmly welcomed by The University of Zakho. Then he delivered his seminar.
Dr. Honar Issa has been engaged with The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) since its establishment in 2014. He served as the first-ever Provost of AUK during 2016-2017. Prior to that, he served as a Member of the Board of Trustees at AUK and led the establishment phase of the University during 2013-2016. He was the Founding Dean of Engineering at Soran University – Kurdistan Region in 2012-2013. Dr. Issa has also taught various structural engineering subjects at the University of Duhok – Kurdistan Region in 2015-2018, University of Salahaddin – Kurdistan Region in 2012-2013 and 2004-2006, and Nottingham Trent University in the UK in 2007-2011.
Dr. Issa received his BSc in Civil Engineering in 2002 and MSc in Structural Engineering in 2006 at Salahaddin University – Hewler, Kurdistan Region. After being a top student at the college, he was awarded the Prime Minister’s Merit Scholarship for his Ph.D. and received the degree in Structural Engineering at Nottingham Trent University, UK, in 2010.
