On Saturday, May 29, 2021, the University of Zakho celebrated the Kurdistan Sports Day by holding two sporting events in the presence of Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Dr. Sherzad Z. Muhammad, Dr.Range M. Nouri and Dr. Hogar T. Tawfiq.

The first event included the opening of a sports exhibition, during which the activities of the Physical Education Department embodied in various sports and games, and the second event was the establishment of a friendship basketball match between the Physical Education Department at the College of Education -UOZ and the Sports Institute in Dohuk. After the match, Kurdistan Sport Day organisation honored the participants in the event.

It’s worth mentioning that on this day, the institutions in the Kurdistan region commemorate the Kurdistan Sports Day by holding various sporting events and activities with the aim of encouraging the practice of sport and urging people to its importance in human life.
