On Monday, February 25, at 11:00 am, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyar A. Saed-Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, lecturers, students of the university, and a considerable number of media, the Department of Kurdish Department celebrated International Mother Language Day by organizing various activities, seminars, and exhibition of inphographs.
In the beginning, Dr. Kamaran I. Moshakhti- Head of the Kurdish Department welcomed the guests, then precisely talked about the Kurdish language, the development of the Kurdish language and protecting it from extinction. After that, he expressed his gratitude to the students and lecturers of the Kurdish Department who commemorates this day annually.
Likewise, a number of seminars on the Kurdish language were delivered by students then the door of the discussion was opened to the audiences to share their thoughts on the topics presented. Furthermore, another event, Book Exhibition, in celebration of this day, was held. In the exhibition, pictures representing the Kurdish culture and language were exhibited.
