On Friday, November 8, 2019, at 2:30 PM, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Aram M. Qadir-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Farhad Ameen Atroshi- Dohuk Governor, presidents of public and private universities, and directors of public and private institutions, the University of Zakho celebrated the 9th commencement ceremony at Delal Stadium in Zakho city.

At the beginning, the attendees stood a minute of silence in honor of the soul of martyrs of Kurdistan with the anthem (Ay Raqeb) being played. Then the ceremony started with some quotes from the holy Quran.

Then Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho delivered a speech. In his speech, he warmly welcomed the guests and congratulated the students for their graduation. He added that (1012) students graduated in this round, and wished them a brighter future after college. After that, Dr. Aram M. Qadir-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research delivered a speech. He congratulated the students and praised the progress the University of Zakho has achieved in a short time.

In addition, a speech was delivered by Mr. Beyar Shaaban- student's representative. He wished the students success and requested the Kurdistan region government to set up a plan to provide job opportunities for the students to serve their country. Likewise, a speech was delivered by Dr. Karwan F. Sami-Vice President of the University for Students Affairs.

In conclusion, some of the lecturers of the university were awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and then the students were given their bachelor degree.
