On Thursday, January 19, 2023, a delegation from the University of Zakho, consisting of Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Diyar A. Said, Vice President for Administration and Financial Affairs, Dr. Dler A. Jameel, Director of Quality Assurance, and Dr, Nizar I. Ali, Director of the International Relations Affairs, paid a visit to the University of Murcia in Spain, and they were sincerely received by the university staff.

In the presence of the President of the University of Murcia, Dr. José Lujan, Vice President for International Affairs, and several academic staff of the university, numerous matters related to higher education and activities of the University of Zakho were discussed. Moreover, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Zakho and the University of Murcia by Dr. Karwan F. Sami, and Dr. José Lujan.

The MOU consists of several terms that emphasize the mobility of staff and students, in addition to co-work between the University of Zakho and the University of Murcia.

Noteworthy, the delegation mentioned the tourist attractions in Zakho City such as the Dalal Bridge, which is deeply rooted in history. Thus, both sides decided to conduct a joint project concerning the tourist attractions in Zakho.
