The President of the University of Zakho- Dr. Lazgin A.Jamil participates in the 2nd Forum of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab Universities, which has been held on November 28th-29th and organized by Moscow State University, in Moscow, Russia. It is worth mentioning that the forum was attended by the representatives of 46 Russian and 33 Arab universities.

In the welcoming speech, Professor Viktor Sadovnichy-President of Moscow State University and the President of the Russian Rectors’ Union stated the historical roots and the current state of the scientific, cultural and educational cooperation between higher education institutions of Russia and the Arab world.

Based on the presentations and discussions of the Forum’s participants, the following conclusions were made:
1.    Expressing the desire of participated universities and parties in further educational and scientific corporations.
2.    Enabling academic mobility of students, graduate students and teachers, as well as enabling joint programs by providing a double diploma at the master level.
3.    The importance of research, science, and innovation collaboration through joint efforts of research laboratories and organization of conferences and symposia.
4.    Agreement on the establishment of the Russian-Arab Youth Union of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab Universities.
5.    Developing an objective and realistic assessment in the rating and ranking of the universities. In this regard, the Forum participants supported the development and promotion of the International Ranking named “The Three University Missions”.

The forum ended by signing agreements between some of the participated universities.
