On Monday the 16th of May, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Science at the University of Zakho, a session with a political theme to mark the 100 anniversary of Sykes- Picot agreement was held under the slogan" By our blood we've removed the borders that were once drawn by pen."

The meeting started with a minute of silence followed by the national anthem of the Kurdistan region. Moreover, the occasion consisted of a variety of events of celebration and photo galleries in the presence of Mr.Hemin Hawrami, member of the Kurdistan Democratic party, Mr. Saadi Ahmed Pira member of the Kurdistan National party, Mr. Abu Bakr Karvani member of the Islamic party of Kurdistan, vice presidents, deans of Faculties, teachers and students of UOZ, directors governmental institutions, managers, journalists and personalities from Zakho.
