On August 22, 2019, Dr. Lokman A. Abdulkareem-Dean of the College of Engineering paid a one week visit to Germany. First, he visited Wilo Company which is one of the world-leading manufacturers of pumps, submersible mixers, and pump systems for the building technology, water and industrial sectors in Hof, Germany. He held meetings with key members of the company.
After that, he visited Helmholtz Zentrum Rossendurf (HZDR) in Dresden, Germany which is a well-known research center in Dresden/Germany which contributes to solving grand challenges facing society, science and industry by conducting top-rate research in the fields of Aeronautics, Space and Transport; Earth and Environment; Energy; Health; Matter; and Key Technologies. He met with the key members of the center and discussed future mutual collaboration between the two sides with respect to summer schools, training courses, scholarships for masters and Ph.D. study programs, joint research projects and other scientific activities.
